Dr.
Sahil A.
Dosaj
O.D.
Dr. Dosaj is a distiguished alumni of Western University College of Optometry where he graduated with honors. While in optometry school, he always excelled in all his contact lens, low vision, and ocular disease courses and in 2012 he received the award of “Who’s Who amongst American Universities & Colleges”. Having a keen interest in pathology helped him fall into the path of ocular disease. After completing his second year in optometry school, he knew that he wanted to do a residency, as he realized that the field of optometry is constantly expanding both medically and technologically. While he was rotating through his school clinic’s disease rotations in Virginia, he discovered a passion for ocular disease
In 2013, Dr. Dosaj started a primary care and ocular disease residency at the Indian Health Services hospital in Crownpoint, New Mexico. The experience and knowledge he gained from the residency gave him a better grasp of ocular diseases. It enabled him to work closely with ophthalmologists and other medical professions to provide better care for patients. He uses the knowledge he has gained from his residency, to restore vision in patients with corneal abnormalities from diseases, surgeries, and trauma. An ocular disease residency has helped him build confidence and stay one step ahead of his colleagues in treating complicated diseases that are in the scope of optometry.
Dr. Dosaj currently works at two different private primary care offices in Yucaipa and Bellflower, where he focuses on primary care, ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and pre and post op care for LASIK and cataract surgery. He occasionally gives lectures at conventions and to societies. Over the next year, Dr. Dosaj plans to become a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
